Military Appreciation Month

Written by Ändreä Griffith:

In honor of Military Appreciation Month, ARServices would like to recognize and thank our nation’s service members and their families for the sacrifices they have made in defense of our country. As the daughter of a Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, I am immensely proud to be an employee of ARServices, an organization unique in its dedication to supporting military members and their families. ARServices supports our military employees, retired military employees, and military families through the provision of extensive military leave and monetary donations to a variety of military-focused nonprofits, including Fisher House and the United Service Organizations. Additionally, We continue our active involvement as a partner to the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP).

The MSEP program was created by the Department of Defense as an expansion within the Spouse Education and Career Opportunities Program, a program dedicated to strengthening education and career opportunities for military spouses. As a partner of MSEP, ARServices improved our recruitment and hiring strategies for military spouses and now have an increased number of military spouses in our employment. ARServices is proud to announce that 9% of our current employees are military spouses and 21% are veterans. We understand that as many military families move to new homes across the country, career opportunities for spouses can be difficult to obtain. Through the MSEP program, we are now able to connect with hundreds of thousands of military spouses across the nation and hope to increase our military spouse employment even more in the coming year.

Military appreciation month allows us to publically demonstrate our appreciation for the United States Armed Forces and their families. As Memorial Day approaches, we are honoring service members who made the ultimate sacrifice by donating to Wear Blue: Run to Remember, a non-profit organization that honors the service and sacrifice of the American Military. In addition, we invite all ARServices employees to commit a mile (or more) to the organization on Memorial Day. Participants can commit their mile(s) online at http://www.wearblueruntoremember.org/commit-your-miles. Participants have the choice of running at a local Chapter meet-up, getting together with other ARServices employees, creating their own group of runners, or running individually. For more information, look for our official email on the topic. On behalf of President & CEO Jay McCargo, ARServices’ extends our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for all of our service members and their families.
