ARServices to Sponsor Second Annual “Day of Service” Program

Alexandria, VirginiaFebruary 1, 2017 – ARServices, a leading management and technology consulting provider for the federal government and defense sectors, will sponsor its second annual Day of Service program for its employees in 2017.

The company’s Day of Service program, which originated in 2016, is intended to give employees an opportunity to donate their time and give back to their communities. The program provides a company-paid day of personal leave to all employees for use in the participation of philanthropic activities and events of their choice.

This day can be used by ARServices employees to volunteer on any date and at any time during the 2017 calendar year, or can be used to participate in company-organized philanthropic opportunities.

For employees without a preferred charity in which to donate their time, ARServices has partnered with the DC-Metro area charity, So Others May Eat (SOME), so that employees have an avenue in which to give back. SOME is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of the nation’s capital.

As part of their partnership, ARServices team members will be both providing and serving lunch to the SOME community on February 8, 2017.

“ARServices is committed to giving back to the communities in which our employees live, and being a good corporate neighbor,” said Andrea Robinson, Human Resources Manager at ARServices. “We are excited to partner with SOME, which provides hundreds of thousands of meals annually to the more than 8,000 homeless men and women in Washington, D.C. We’re truly grateful for the work they do, and for enabling us to play even a small part in their enormously important work.”

The annual Day of Service is just one of many philanthropic activities and programs that ARServices has planned for 2017. As in year’s past, the company will once again utilize its annual Holiday Party to raise money and donations for charities. In 2016, this included operating a toy drive for Toys for Tots, raising funds for Able Forces, adopting a family from Doorways for Women and Families, and participating in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.

ARServices will also continue its tradition of contributing to charities and nonprofit organizations in 2017 and beyond. These contributions include donations to organizations referred to the company by its employees.

“ARServices has been very successful thanks in large part to the support of our community,” said Jay McCargo, President and CEO of ARServices. “We utilize our company-wide Day of Service program to show our appreciation for that support by enabling our employees to volunteer their time to a charity of their choice, or by teaming with their coworkers to support an extremely important organization, So Others May Eat.”
