ARS Sponsored Army ADP Alumni Luncheon

In January, 2008, ARS will celebrate its 20th year of hosting the Army ADP Alumni Luncheons. These luncheons were initiated by ARS’ Chairman and CEO, Albert Spaulding, Marty Zimmerman, and BG(R) Jim Ralph. Initial attendance at the luncheon was comprised of twelve former Army Officers and SES personnel who were currently or had been heavily involved in the Army ADP-IT field and desired to periodically meet for lunch to network and have information exchanges with guest speakers in this field. Now current participation runs between 70 and 100 attendees with the topics focusing on the evolution of ADP to C41, DISA’s role and responsibilities in its' functional area, and towards the joint environment.
Over the past 19+ years, there have been more than 60 guest speakers including: Generals Wilson, Paige, Hilmes, Kelley, Vollrath, Neighbors, Edmonds, Baldwin, Bryan, Cuviello, and Sorenson and key civil servants such as Tony Valletta, Dave Borland, Dawn Hartley, Mimi Browning, and Kevin Carroll.
The luncheons are scheduled once per quarter at the Fort Myer Officers’ Club, where attendees continue to gather to hear and discuss ongoing Army/DOD Information Technology, C4I, and Information Assurance issues, needs, initiatives, and progress. Guest speakers have often indicated that this is an excellent forum to facilitate their outreach efforts to attendees, who represent both public and private sectors, particularly industry.
Anyone desiring to attend any of the luncheons may do so by contacting Kay Moore at (703) 824-6362 or email: kmoore@arslimited.com.
Following is the 2008 luncheon schedule: October 3 and December 5. The names of Guest Speakers are TBD.
